Nuclear Expert Speaks, "I oversaw the U.S. nuclear power industry. Now I think it should be banned."
The Washington Post Outlook section published a story written by Dr. Gregory Jaczko, the thesis states:
“The danger from climate change no longer outweighs the risks of nuclear accidents.”
Early in 2019, Patagonia awarded $23,000 to the Samuel Lawrence Foundation to support its San Onofre and Beyond campaign. Nearly a quarter of the grant came from the clothing company’s store in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California.
The collaboration aims to educate the public, promote action by public officials, build a coalition of leaders, and move nuclear waste off of the beach.
When announcing the grant award, a Patagonia official noted the company’s mission statement – “We’re in business to save our home planet” — and thanked the Foundation for its “important work.”
Thanks so much, Patagonia!

SLF Stands with Students at Youth Climate Strike
The Samuel Lawrence Foundation was proud to stand alongside nearly 30 teens who demanded action for a livable climate during a March 15 rally at the Oceanside Pier. Participants agreed that storing nuclear waste just a few miles up the beach is unacceptable. The protest was part of a worldwide strike in which students protested their government’s inaction on climate change.
