Dance Start

Launched in 2019, "Dance Start" brings the joy of dance to children in Head Start programs.

The program teaches choreography, rhythm, and music appreciation during 50 of the 52 weeks of the year at eight Head Start Centers in San Diego county. In 2023 these 8 locations taught over 105 students.

Our program democratizes dance and leads to more diverse representation in dancers and instruction. Our aim is to make dance accessible and foster diversity in the arts. We're forging a path toward a future where every child has the chance to dance into a brighter, more confident future.

Art is so important in society. Because of your generosity, we continue to enrich local communities by increasing access to incredible arts programs like these.
