Our “Science on Tap” series transforms local restaurants, bars, and community venues into spaces for public conversation, learning, and civic engagement around some of the most urgent environmental issues facing Southern California. The live lecture series brings together scientists, journalists, artists, advocates, students, and local residents for accessible discussions on nuclear waste at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, renewable energy alternatives, climate resilience, and public health.

The gatherings are designed to break down barriers between experts and the public by creating an informal, welcoming environment where people can ask questions, share ideas, and engage directly with leading voices in science and advocacy.

More than a traditional lecture series, Science on Tap serves as a growing community hub for civic participation and grassroots organizing. Events often spark collaborations between local organizations, students, educators, and advocates while helping attendees better understand how national environmental issues directly impact Southern California communities.
